Preparation of Genetic Maps
In the preparation of molecular genetic maps, following steps are involved: (i) development of a mapping population, (ii) selection of one or more molecular marker systems, (iii) identification of adequate number of molecular markers showing polymorphisms in the mapping population, and genotyping of individual plants or lines of the mapping population, using each polymorphic molecular marker, and (iv) construction of molecular map using suitables computer software.
