Workshops for playwrights in Indian languages is a new scheme introduced in 1994. New play scripts in anyone language are invited every year, screened by a group of theatre-workers, and one or two plays chosen and staged with the support of the Academi. The performances are followed by discussions attended by playwrights, directors, actors and other theatre workers.
