SSC for Commercial Pilots Licence Holders

The Indian Navy recruits unmarried Male Indian citizens for Short Service Commission in its Executive Branch as Pilots. Age: 1912-25 years as on the date specified in the notification.

Education Qualification: Graduates holding current
Commercial Pilot Licence (issued by Director General Civil Aviation) and should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Physical Standards: (A) Height: Minimum height 162.5 cms (1) Sitting Height: Minimum 81.5 cms., Maximum 96.0 cms (2) Leg Length: Minimum 99.0 cm, max. 120 cms. (3) Thigh Length: 64.0 cms. (B) Eye Sight: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in the other eye, correctable to 6/6.

Mode of Selection: (a) Short-listed candidates are called during June and July for Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews held a Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore followed by a medical examination (b) The duration of SSB interviews is 5 days. During their stay at the SSB, candidates are assessed in psychological Tests, Individual Tasks, Group Tasks, GDs and interview.

Training & Service in Aviation: (a) The Training is held at Naval Academy, Ezhimala during August. (b) Candidates are inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Navel Academy, Ezhimala, followed by preflying and Hello conversion courses at different Training Establishments/Units/Ships. They are kept on probation for a period of two years during which they are liable to be discharged. A candidate who fails to qualify in the aviation training is not retained in service. Full pay and allowances are admissible to officers, whilst under training. In addition, the candidates are entitled for Aviation pay and allowances up to maximum of Rs. 7000/ - (depending on the rank) per month only after qualification the Aviation training.
