Naval Armament Inspection Officer in Indian Navy

Role of Naval Armament Inspection Officer:
A Naval Armament Inspection Officer is responsible for inspection of the armament supplied to the Navy by various agencies. He ensures the quality, safety and reliability of Naval Armament and Stores. The officers are also responsible for in-house research and development leading to indigenization. The duty also includes exposure to wide spectrum of opportunities to keep abreast of modern and latest technological development in the field of armament.

Eligibility: Unmarried Male Indian Citizen (i) Age: Must be between 19 ½ - 25 years. (ii) Educational Qualification: Degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical Engineering OR Post-Graduate Degree in Electronics or Physics.

Physical Standards: (i) Height and weight: Minimum acceptable height 157 cms. With correlated weight. (ii) Vision Standard: 6/60, 6/60 (correctable to 6/6, 6/12 with glasses). Should not be colour/ night blind.

Selection Procedure: Short-listed candidates are called for SSB interviews held at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore followed by Medical Examination. The duration of SSB interview is 5 days. During their stay at the SSB, candidates are assessed in Psychological Tests, Individual Tasks, Group Tasks Group Discussions and Interview.

On the first day of the interview candidates are undergo and Intelligence Test and Group Discussions. Only those who qualify, participate in the subsequent tests.

Training: Candidates are enrolled as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy, Goa, followed  by professional training. Any candidate who is found to be married or marries while under training is discharged and is liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government.

Navy Offers You: On entry total emoluments of approx. Rs. 13,000/- pm in the rank of Sub-Lieutenant. Officers are entitled to all other benefits as per rules. Insurance cover of Rs. 10 lakhs (on contribution) as per latest rules in vogue.
