Commissioned Officer in Education, Law and Logistics Cadres

The Indian Navy offers to unmarried Female and Male Indian citizens career as a Commissioned Officer in the Education, Law and Logistics Cadres.

Eligibility:
Education Branch: (a) Age limit: 21 to 25 years.
(b) Education Qualification:
An Engineering degree in any one of the following: (i) Mechanical (ii) Electrical (iii) Computer Science/ Technology or a second class Master’s degree in physics (with Maths in B.Sc.) or Maths (with Physics in B.Sc.) or Computer Application/ Computer Science (with either Physics or Maths at graduation level).

Law Cadre: (a) Age Limit: 22 to 27 years

(b) Educational Qualification: A degree in Law qualifying for enrolment as an Advocate under the Advocates Act 1961, with 55% marks and above.

Logistics Cadre: (a) Age Limit: 19 ½ to 25 years

(b) Educational Qualification: B.A (Economics), B.Com, BCA or MCA, B.E/ B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

Physical Standards:
Men: (i) Height and Weight: Minimum acceptable height 157 cms. With correlated weight. The weight should not, however, vary from the average by more than 10%. (ii) Vision Standards: 6/36, 6/60 correctable to 6/6 (in each eye with glasses).

Women: (i) Height and Weight: Minimum acceptable height 148 cms, weight 38.6 Kgs. The correlated wright should not, however, vary from the average by more than 10%. (ii) Vision Standards: 6/36, 6/60 correctable to 6/6 (in each eye with glasses

Selection and Training:
Candidates recommended by Naval Headquarters after short-listing are required to appear before the Naval Selection Board (at Bangalore and Bhopal) and undergo test in leadership qualities and Physical fitness. Initial training is conducted at Naval Academy (NAVAC) situated amidst the scenic beauty of Goa, followed by training at other centres like Mumbai (Bombay), Cochin and Visakhapatnam.

How to apply: Application forms in the prescribed format, published along with the public notification which appears in the Employment News and in some other prominent national dailies and complete in all respects are to be sent to Directorate of Manpower Planning and Recruitment (R and R section), Naval Headquarters, Sena Bhavan, New Delhi 110011 by registered post.
