As far as career is concerned, it must be clearly understood that Law as a profession in the present day has become quite glamorous. But success in this profession requires a lot of hard work and determination. The degree of competition that prevails in the profession is very high. A large number of law graduates complete law courses each year. They are allowed to enrol and practice in any court in any part of the country. The tremendous pace of development coupled with the population explosion have contributed to the increase in problems in the Indian society. This has initiated far-reaching changes in the lega1 system and there has been a spurt in litigation.

After obtaining a law degree and on the completion of internship, one can start one's career as an advocate or a solicitor. A great deal of your work, as a lawyer, involves devotion to a study of the rules and regulations applicable to different areas of human activities. Such rules and regulations are sometimes found in our state and federal constitutions, more often in statutes, sometimes in administrative ruling, and in many instances, have been developed by the courts themselves in the process of deciding the controversies that come before them. They give advice on legal matters and use their judgment to decide what legislation and precedents are relevant in a particular case. Advocates are normally consulted by solicitors on behalf of their clients.

A junior can join a solicitor's firm either as an article clerk while pursuing a law degree of after internship as a solicitor's assistant.
