Penicillin is used to produce semi-synthetic penicillin - 6 APA (ampicillin, amoxicillin and cloxacillin) and 7ACDA (cephaloxin). The use of 6APA and 7ACDA has increased due to their lower side effects; they are manufactured from Penicillin G.
