Resource Centres of the NIFT

The network of NIFT Resource Centres is the only Fashion Information System in India serving the fashion professionals, students and fashion educators. Its integrated collection of print, visual and creative material resources is the only systematically documented source of information available in India for study of international and contemporary Indian fashion.

The Resource Centre at NIFT, New Delhi, is known as the National Resource Centre (NRC). The other Resource Centres located at Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Bangalore. These Resource Centres have relevant collections and provide support services to the industry and entreprenuers.

Continuiiing Education Department, NIFT, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110016 offers the following courses:
Garment Production Machinery, Operation & Maintenance (Chennai). Eligibility. 10th with relevant industry expo Duration: 3 months.

(a) 3-months courses for 10+2 pass candidates:
CAD for Woven Textiles (Kolkata). Eligibility. Basic knowledge of computers. Working professionals are preferred.

Fashion Photography (New Delhi). Eligibility. Preference is given to candidates with photography related exposure.

Export Merchandising for Garment Industry (Mumbai). Eligibility. Preference is given to candidates with industry experience.

Apparel Quality Management (Bangalore).

Product Development for Knits (New Delhi). Eligibility. Preference is given to working professionals.

b) 4-months courses for 10+2 pass candidates:
Exhibition Design (Mumbai). Eligibility. Basic knowledge of computers. Preference is given to working professionals.

Fashion Retailing (Kolkata). Eligibility. Relevant industry experience.

Pattern & Marker making through CAD (New Delhi). Eligibility. Manual pattern making knowledge. Candidates with basic computer skills are preferred.

(c) 6-months courses for 10+2 pass candidates:
Design process & Portfolio Development (Kolkata & Mumbai). Eligibility. Relevant industry experience.

Fashion Integration for Apparel Industry (New Delhi). Eligibility: 2 years exp. in related field are given preference.

Textiles for Apparel and Home Fashions (Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata). Eligibility: 1-year exp. in related industry or graduation in any discipline or Diploma Holder in Textiles/Handlooms. Preference is given to working professionals.

Computer Application in Textiles (Bangalore). Eligibility: Basic knowledge of computers. Preference is given to working professionals.

Fashion Knitwear & Production Technology (New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata). Eligibility: 1-year experience in related field. Preference is given to graduates and working professionals.

Computer Application in Fashion Industry (New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai). Eligibility. Basic knowledge of computers. Preference is given to candidates with two years experience in related field.

Clothing Production Technology (New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai). Eligibility: 1 yr. exp. in garment industry.

Textile Development for Fashion (New Delhi). Eligibility. Preference is given to working professionals.

(e) 3-months courses for Graduates:
Fashion Journalism (New Delhi). Eligibility. Proficiency in English or Diploma in Fashion/Journalism or Professionals in the area of Fashion/ Journalism.

(f) 6-mohths courses for Graduates
Apparel Production Technology (Gandhinagar). Eligibility: Preference is given to candidates with industry experience.

(g) 1-year courses for Graduates:
Fashion Retail Management (Hyderabad). Eligibility: Graduation or 3 years diploma from NIFT/NID. Experienced candidates are preferred.

Garment Export Merchandising Management (Bangalore). Eligibility Graduation or 3 years diploma from NIFT/NID. Experienced candidates are preferred.

Marketing & Merchandising of Handloom and Handicraft Products (Hyderabad). Eligibility: Graduation in any discipline or Diploma in Handloom technology.

Selection to all of these courses is made through an interview.
