It is a long list.

Fashion Forecasting
Fashion forecasting is something that makes a good designer stand out amidst huge crowds and if your innovative ideas catch the public eye then you have made your life. A Fashion Designer is a very creative person whose flight of imagination makes him conceive new designs of clothing and accessories.
Fashion designers create designs for almost anything which is a part of the garment for men, women and children. Designers create garments and accessories so as to make them functional as well as attractive. Fashion designers not only design but also supervise the workroom staff. The job is high-paced and requires a lot of running around for market research and then making mental notes connected to the future trends which no doubt requires technical expertise.

The pieces are then drawn in actual size on paper and cut out on a rough material. These pieces are stitched together and fitted on a model. Modifications in the pattern pieces or other features of the mock­up are made and thus the design is completed. From the rough model sample garments are made in the final fabric.

Much time of the designer is spent in exploration and research. Knowledge about fabric, weave, draping qualities, material, colour and design and changing trends is important.
