Assistant Designer
A Junior Designer is generally there to assist a designer and is responsible for following the designer's ideas and his job may involve creating a paper pattern or even sewing the sample garment itself. He also assists in carrying out a thorough market research in trends, selecting fabrics, trimmings, visiting retail stores, etc. To serve this position a specialised training in drawing, sketching, cutting, tailoring, sewing etc. is a must. He should also have an aesthetic sense of colour schemes and designs.

A trained colourist plays a vital role in the textile-printers, artist team. He keeps a record of colour samples and fabric pieces. They are the ones who are involved in block printing or machine printing. A colourist has to be a very organised and neat worker who can carefully follow precise instructions that are given to him and he should also be able to work in a highpaced environment because deadlines must be met, no matter what happens.

Merchandising Assistant is basically a marketing man. To develop a line for the coming season is his basic job. He is responsible for studying past and current sales data and analyzing trends. A Merchandising Assistant should not only possess a high sense of fashion but should also have analytical ability and communication skills. He should be a resourceful and enthusiastic worker who keeps contacts with clients.
Show Room Assistant
He performs a wide variety of duties depending on he size of the organisation. It may include finalising deals with buyers, taking orders, and also keeping records. He should have a good business sense and marketing skills.
Production Assistant
He keeps records of production, inventory, piece-goods and shipments. He keeps track of deliveries and orders. His job involves keeping contacts with clients and this calls for perfect PR skills.
Industrial Engineer
He is responsible for casting layout method analysis and therefore requires good perceptual ability besides training in industrial engineering /apparel production and engineering.
Assistant Plant Manager
His job profile includes supervising various plant operations including cutting, sewing, pressing, warehousing. He assigns tasks to various units of the company and therefore should be a graduate in production management and industrial engineering. He should have ability to plan, organise and control.
