National Dairy Research Institute is a Deemed University. It serves as the prime centre for research, consultancy and man-power development programmes of the country in the field of Dairying. The main campus of NDRI is now located at Karnal (Haryana) and its two Regional Stations are at Bangalore and Kalyani (WE). Dairy Technology degree programme offers intensive training in processing of milk and milk products, quality control and Engineering aspects of diary processing equipments.

7. Reservation: SC-15 per cent; ST -7.5 per cent.
8. Minimum Qualification: The eligibility for admission is 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English from a Board/University recognised by the Institute. Candidates must have obtained at least 55 percent marks (59 per cent for SC/ST) in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

9. Application Procedure: Application form and information Bulletin can be had from the Institute during the month of March/ April (on notification) on cash payment of requisite amount or through Bank Draft drawn in favour of ICAR UNIT, NDRI, Kamal, payable at any nationalised Bank at Kamal alongwith a self-addressed stamped envelope (25 cm x 20 cm).
10. Last Date: Last date for submission of completed application form is generally second half of May.

11. Method of Selection: Admission to R Tech. is based on an Entrance Examination which is held generally in the 3rd/4th week of June. The subjects for the entrance examination are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General Knowledge. The duration of each paper is one hour and the questions are mostly of objective-type. The maximum marks for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be 100 each and for General Knowledge it will be 50.

12. Examination Centres: Karnal, Bangalore, Jaipur, Kalyani, Nagpur, Cuttack, Hyderabad, Mannothy (Kerala), Varanasi, Agra, Jabalpur, Shillong and Anand.
