Andhra Pradesh Common Entrance Examination - Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is held for admission to first year B.E:/B.Tech./B.Arch., courses of the Andhra University, Waltair, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and Osmania University, Hyderabad; Nagarjuna University, Nagarjuna Nagar; S.V.University; Tirupati; Kakatiya University; and Regional Engineering College,

Warrangal (Kakatiya University); including Andhra Pradesh quota for REC's by the Common Entrance Examination Committee constituted at one of the Universities/Institutes in the State. The common details are given below. For additional details please refer to individual colleges.

2. Reservation of Seats: Seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Backward Classes, Orthopaedically handicapped, Children of Defence Personnel, Sports, NCP,
Government of India nominees. Telugu speaking candidates and for other states are on reciprocal basis, 85 per cent of the seats are reserved in favour of the local candidates in relation to the local area in respect of a University in the State.

3. Minimum Qualification: A candidate must have passed in the inter exam with Maths, Physics and Chemistry or Vocational courses in the field of Engineering and Technology of the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or an exam recognised as equivalent thereto or Diploma exam in Engineering/Arch of the State Govt.

4. Age Limit:
Minimum 16 years on December 31st of the year of admission.

5. Domicile Restrictions:
State residents (except Govt. of India nominee,). Following categories of candidate are considered eligible.

(a) Study in State educational institutions for 4/7 consecutive academic years;

(b) resident in local area for 417 years immediately preceding the date of commencement of qualifying exam OR candidates who have resided in the State for 10 years, excluding periods of study, outside the State OR candidates whose parents have resided in the State for 10 years excluding the period of employment outside the State OR candidates whose parents/who are spouses of those in the employment of the State/Central Govt./ Public Sector Corporations/Local bodies/Universities within the State at the time of submission of application.

6. Application Procedure: Application form can be obtained during Feb./March (on notification) from Principals of the Engineering Colleges of Andhra University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Osmania University and Sri Venkateswara University etc., or from the Convenor, EAMCET on requisition, with a bank draft of the prescribed amount and a self­ addressed envelope of 30 x 20 cm size with prescribed ,postage stamps.

7. Last Date: Last date for the receipt of completed application form is usually in March/April of the year of admission.

8. Examination Centres: Guntur, Tirupati, Warrangal, Hyderabad, Kakinada, Vijayawada and Anantpur, Bhimavaram, Kuddapah, Kurnool, Machilipatnam, Nellore, Nizamabad, Visakhapatnam, Rajamundry.

9. Method of Selection: Admission is made (except for nominated seats) through a Common Entrance Examination held for the purpose by the Common Entrance Examination Committee. The entrance test comprises Maths, Physics and Chemistry of 3-hour duration. The questions are Objective Type (multiple-choice).

The standard of the test is that of the Intermediate Exam. Selection is made on the basis of merit obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Maths in the entrance test subject to reservations. The candidates must obtain a minimum of 30 per cent marks in aggregate in the entrance test.

10. Medium of Examination: English and Telugu. Candidates may be allowed to write in Urdu in Hyderabad Centre.

11. Last Date: Last date for the receipt of completed application form is usually in March/April of the year of admission.

12. Test: May.
