Admission procedure for Bachelor's degree courses in Engineering to all the 17 Regional Engineering Colleges (REC) listed below has since been revised. Candidates seeking admission to any of the 17 REC's are required to submit only one application to the Principal of REC having jurisdiction over the area from which the candidate' have passed the qualifying examination.
In these colleges 50 per cent of the seats are allotted to the students of the State in which the college is located. The remaining 50 per cent of the seats at each college are allotted to students coming from other States in the country on the basis of the population of the State concerned.

Branch and Seats: Computer Science (50 seats).
Reservation of Seats: UP quota SC- 21 per cent; ST- 2 per cent; OBC-27 per cent; Backward Classes-15 per cent; Hill Trade and Border Areas-7 per cent; Dependent of Freedom Fighters-5 per cent; Armed Forces-2 per cent; Other states SC-15 per cent; ST -71/2 per cent.
Age Limit: Not over 22 years as on the 1st October of the year of admission (relaxation of 3 years in the case of SC/ST/Backward Classes). There is no lower age limit.

Minimum Qualification: A pass in Intermediate Examination with Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education UP or an equivalent examination with 50 per cent marks and a pass in English. For SC/ST candidates a pass in the Qualifying Examination with PCM in English.

NB: The candidates appearing in any of the above exams are also eligible for appearing at the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE),but they should be declared as successful in the qualifying exam by July 15 of the year of admission.

Application Procedure: Application forms with Information Brochure are available in the month of January of the year of admission from all the V.P. Engineering Colleges against the payment of requisite amount. The forms can also be obtained by post from the Coordinator, Admission Committee (Institute conducting the CEE) against crossed Demand Draft of the requisite amount.

Last Date: 'The last date for the submission of form is generally the last week of March.

Selection: Selection is made on the basis of merit at the Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by Engineering Institutes in V.P. by rotation. For further details, please see page 124 UPS EAT.

Examination Centres: The examination is held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Chennai, Nagpur, Patna and 16 important towns of UP with 50 per cent marks and a pass in English. For SC/ST candidates a pass in the Qualifying Examination is only necessary.

Reservation of Seats: SC-22 seats (2 seats for B.Arch.); ST­15 seats (2 seats for B.Arch.); Military Personnel-7 seats (I seat for B.Arch.); Freedom Fighters-4 seats ( I seat for B.Arch.); Technical stream-3 seats (1 seat for B.Arch.). 50 per cent seats are reserved for 16 other States, Regional Colleges, General-84 seats (13 seats for B.Arch.),
Age Limit: No age limit is mentioned.

Minimum Qualification: A pass in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination in Science Technical stream with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50 per cent marks in the aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Maths and a pass in English. Relaxation is allowed for SC/ST candidates. They have to just pass the qualifying exam.

Application Procedure: Application form and prospectus can be obtained from all Engineering Colleges of MP on cash payment of requisite amount in the month of February .The application form by post can be obtained from the Office of Professional Examination Board, through Account Payee Bank draft drawn on State Bank of India, Maharana Pratap Nagar Branch or any other nationalised Bank and payable to Professional Examination Board at Bhopal.

Last Date: Last date for submission of completed application form is usually in March.

Method of Selection: Selection is made on the basis of merit at the Entrance Examination conducted by Professional Examination Board, Bhopal for admission to State Engineering Colleges, of the country (MP State quota). The test is held at about 13 important towns of MP in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General English.
Medium of Examination: English and Hindi.
