Bihar
Admission is made through Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam. (BCECE) for seats in the following' colleges:
(i) Bhagalpur College of Engg. Bhagalpur.
(ii) Bihar College of Engg. Patna.
(iii) Bihar Institute of Technology, Sindri.
(iv) Maulana Azad College of Engg. Patna.
(v) Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology, Muzaffarpur.
(vi) Regional Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur (for 50 per cent) and for Bihar quota seats in other Regional Engg. Colleges; College of Agricultural Engg.

Pusa, Samastipur; Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology, Patna. However, it may be noted that there are separate admission rules for Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. For seats in Regional Engg. Colleges it is necessary that the candidates should have passed the qualifying exam from one of the institutions in Bihar.
There is exemption from appearing in BCECE for Government of India nominees. Bihar natives, domiciles and refugees are eligible for admission. Govt. of India nominees; children employees of State/ Central Govt./Public Sector Undertaking /UN Agencies in Bihar are considered exceptions.

2. Eligibility: Inter (Sc)/10+2 with PCM or equivalent.
3. Age: Candidates should be between 16 to 22 years of age as on July 1 (upper age relaxable by five years for SC/ST candidates).
Medical fitness is also required.
4. Selection: Selection is made as per merit in BCECE. The test is, of separate papers on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and is of qualifying exam standard. Separate merit lists are prepared for general reserved seats.
5. Reservation: SC-l4 per cent, ST -10 per cent, BC-10 per cent, EBC-14 per cent, Women-2 per cent. 1 seat in each college for children/dependents of Ex-servicemen, disabled defence personnel.
Seats are also reserved for Govt. of India/State nominees.

Reservation: 50 per cent of seats for Muslim minorities.
Eligibility: Students who have passed I.Sc. or 10 + 2 examination or equivalent or appearing in these examinations are eligibile to appear at the competitive test held during August.

5. Chandigarh
Common Entrance Test is conducted during May/June at Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Delhi for admission to degree courses in B.E./tech./B.Arch. in the Punjab Engg. College.
2. Eligibility: 10 + 2 (passed or appeared in Science stream) with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English or its equivalent from a recognised Board. Medical fitness of the candidate is also essential.
3. Entrance Test for the courses in Engg. and Architecture is held in May at Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Delhi. Test consists of questions in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

4. Selection Procedure: Selection is made on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in Common En11rance Test. Candidates have to apply separately, after their name appears in the merit list of CET. They have to use the prescribed form for this purpose, which can be had from the Convener, Joint Admission Committee. Panjab University or per instructions contained in the prospectus.
(i) Punjab Engineering College
