South Korea

Level: Ph.D.
Duration: 3-4 years.
Scholarships: One.
Notification: September/October.
Subjects: Korean Studies, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering.
Eligibility: Korean Studies, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering.
Eligibility: Indian nationals residing in India.
Age: Below 33 years (35 years for SCIST).

Qualifications: Uniformly good academic record with 60 per cent marks in Master’s degree in the field. (Conversion form should be given where grades have been awarded).
Experience: Two years consecutive teaching/research/practical experience in the field after obtaining the prescribed qualification.

Additional Requirements: The candidates should be proficient in the Korean/English language; have good knowledge about Republic of Korea.

The scholarship is regulated by following conditions:
(i) The scholarship-holder should not be accompanied by the spouse/children; (m He/she should not have been enrolled any time at a Korean University; (iii) Spouse should not be living in Korea.

Value: Monthly allowance of 3,50,000 won, exemption of tuition fee and payment of insurance to cover accident during the scholarship.

Passage Cost:
Economy class air passage from India to Seoul and back is provided by Republic of Korea.

Procedure: Typed application, duly sponsored by Employer, attested copies of testimonials, recent photograph, progamme of study and other documents should be submitted on plain paper (as per notified format) by the prescribed date. Advance applications may be considered pending sponsorship by employer within two weeks.
