Sections Officers Audit Exam

Staff Selection Commission holds a competitive exam. for recruitment to the post of Section Officer (Audit) in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General Group 'B' Non-Gazetted Posts in the pay scale of Rs. 5500-9000. The examination is held generally in the month of September.

Blank application forms and other particulars are published in the Employment News usually in the month of May. The forms can also be obtained from Bright careers Institute, 1525, Nai Sarak, Delhi - 110006 by remitting R5. 5.00 by Money Order or cash payment of Rs. 2 at the counter of Institute's showroom. The last date for submission of application is usually second week of June.

2. Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 27 years on the 1st August of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Castes, Ex­-Servicemen and certain other categories.

3. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree of a recognised university.

4. Plan of the Examination: The examination comprises
(i) Written Examination in the subjects as set out in para 5; and
(ii) Interview for such condidates who qualify in the written test

5. Examination Subjects: The subjects of the written exam., the maximum marks and the time allowed for each subject will be as given below:

N.B (i) Paper I will consist of Objective-Type questions only. 
The question papers (Test Booklets) for Part B (General Awareness) and Paper II (Arithmetic) will be set both in English and Hindi.
(ii) Answer Sheets of Paper II, i.e., Arithmetic, will be evaluated of only those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying standards in Paper 1.

6  Syllabus
Paper-I

Part A

English Language: Questions in this test will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, prepositions, articles, etc.), vocabulary, spelling, sequences of sentences in a paragraph, sequence of words in a sentence, cloze passage and comprehension passages, etc. Synonyms and antonyms will be asked in the context of the given passage. The standard of questions will be only of the (10+2) level.

Part B
General Awareness: Questions in this test will Rim at measuring knowledge of current events besides knowledge of General Science/Social Science a d their application to the society. This test will also include questions on sports, culture, history, geography, general polity, etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Paper-II

Arithmetic: This test will include questions on problems relating to percentages, ratio and proportion, average, estimation, use of tables and graphs, mensuration, time and distance, ratio and time, etc.
7. Initial Pay: About Rs. 8000 in the scale of Rs. 5500-9000.
