Level: Post-graduate Study/Research.
Duration: 18 months to 2 years.

Commencement of Academic Session: April/October.

Notification: March/April.
Subjects: Biotechnology; biological oceanography, Fibreoptics; Fine art (printing, sculpture, aesthetics); Laser technology, Micro­processor application/technology; Opto-eleetronics; Pedagogy; Quality and reliability engineering (as applied to electricity and power, railways, heavy industry, Heavy electricals, Electronics and communication, etc.); remote sensing, Robotics; Ship-building textile Engg./Tech.; and Japanese language and Literature.,

Eligibility: Indian nationals, residing in India.
Age: Below 35 years (37 years for SCIST).

Qualifications for Textile Engineering/Ship-Building and Japanese language and literature: Bachelor’s degree in the subject/ related field. Fine arts-Bachelor's degree/diploma in fine arts. For other subjects-Master's degree in the subject. Candidates who have secured 60 per cent marks at the qualifying exam are eligible.

Experience: 2 years consecutive practical/research/teaching experience after obtaining the prescribed qualification except for Fine art and Japanese language and literature.

Additional Requirements: Adequate knowledge of Japan's geography, culture and heritage.
Value: 181.500 Yen per month, arrivals allowance of 25,000 Yen, Field Study allowance, exemption from payment of fees, part payment of medical expenses arranged accommodation..
Passage Cost: Return air ticket provided by the Japanese Government.

Procedure: Typed application with attested copies of testimonials, photograph, programme of study/research and other documents may be submitted on plain paper (as per notified format) by prescribed date. Employed candidate's applications may be considered provisionally pending sponsorship by employer.
