Germany
The number of students wishing to take up studies in Germany has sharply increased in recent years. University studies are generally divided into two semesters in Germany and command of German language is a must for those desirous of going there for studies. They must also provide proof of sufficient funds to support their studies.
An overseas student in Germany, like his German counterpart, is free to work out his own timetable in consultation with the Foreign Student Services and the Student Advisory Services of the university concerned. The German Academic Exchange Service offers a number of scholarships to overseas students every year. Applications can only be submitted in the applicant's home country, through the appropriate ministry or the diplomatic or consular representative of Germany. Further information may be obtained from the German Academic Exchange Service, 176, Golf Links, New Delhi- 11003.
