In the post-genomic era, massive data on DNA sequences are now available in different databases. The approach of data mining using bioinformatics tools is employed for making good use of data. This data can also be utilized for conducting PCR on. the computer. For instance, primers for a specific conserved DNA sequence can be designed and used on the computer to find out the expected length of the amplified product. This approach has been successfully utilized for conducting electronic PCR (ePCR) without the use of PCR machine or PCR reaction mixtures
