Phage Display

In this method, a vector (fl, M13 or A. vector) is designed, which gives a hybrid protein resulting from the fusion of phage coat protein with the protein produced due to the cloned gene. This allows the display of foreign protein on phage coat, thus permitting its possible interaction with other proteins that the phage encounters. The phage display thus allows the study of protein-protein interactions between the protein displayed and one or more of the several purified proteins used for the study of such interactions. A phage display library consisting of a collection of clones displaying a range of proteins - on phage coat can also used to identify the proteins, which interact with a test protein
