Service oriented infrastructural facilities

In order to develop strong research and development (R & D) base and capabilities, DBT has set up service oriented infrastructural facilities in the following areas:

(i) Germplasm banks for plants, animals, algae and microbes.

(ii) Animal houses.

(iii) Oligonucleotide synthesis (DNA synthesizers) and sequencing (automatic sequencers)

(iv) Production, import and distribution of enzymes, reagents, and radio-labelled compounds.

(v) Bioprocess optimization and pilot plants.

(vi) Genetic engineering R & D units.

(vii) Centre for reproductive biology and molecular endocrinology.

(viii) Carbohydrate cell surface and cellular transport.

(ix) Protein and peptide sequencing.

(x) NMR facility.

(xi) Marine cyanobacterial germplasm collection.

(xii) Antibody development consortium.
