Permanent Tissue
These are a group of cells which have lost the power of division and have attained a definite shape, size and function.
According to origin they are of two types:
1. Primary permanent tissues. These are derived from primary (apical) meristems.
2. Secondary permanent tissues. These are derived from secondary meristems like cambium and cork cambium. These tissues are formed due to secondary growth in most of dicot plants and gymnosperms.

On the basis of structure of cells they are of two types:
1. Simple permanent tissue. It includes only one type of cells forming a homogenous mass to perform the same function

2. Complex permanent tissue. It is made up of more than one type of cells working together as a unit.
