Kinds of Bud 1. Depending upon position. (a) Terminal. These are present at the tips of main stem and its branches. They account for increase in length of plant. (b) Lateral. All buds other than terminal are called lateral buds. They can be axillary (growing in leaf axil).
2. Depending upon nature. (a) Vegetative bud. These produce leaf shoots and branches. (b) Floral bud. These form flowers or floral shoots. (c) Mixed bud. It give rise to both vegetative and floral branches.
