Biotic Community

Definition
Biotic community is defined as an aggregation/association of different species living together and interacting among themselves within a specific area having specific set of environmental conditions e.g., different populations co-existing in a pond constitute biotic community of pond.

The purpose of biotic community is functional interactions of populations of different species especially with respect to their shelter. A stable biotic community remains in a state of equilibrium.
