Multimedia designer

Multimedia designer can cover a range of media, but it usually includes combining of images, animation, audio, video or the combination of all these elements. Multimedia designer can work in two areas:

Interactive multimedia design which includes work on kiosks, interactive CDs or DVDs and web design.

Audio, video, animation, photos and more can be the elements in the overall design of the output. But, it is the Graphical User Interface (GUI) that sets interactive design apart from Audio Visual Design.
There has to be some sort of navigation to give the user choice of the content they wish to access at particular point of time. As a multimedia specialist, it will be your concern to make sure that all media elements are tied together effectively and the user can easily navigate to access the desired information that he/she seeks through the Graphical User Interface.Multimedia designer can also take up audiovisual design. This kind of design can be seen on non- interactive output such as TV and Internet.

Commercials, websites using flash intros and movies are exam pies of the work that an audiovisual specialist must be aware of.

Illustrator
An illustrator creates artwork that is used visually to represent information in articles, technical manuals, textbooks etc. Logo design, cartooning and T-shirt designs are the other areas on which an illustrator can try his/ her hand. Anyone interested in this area of work must have a flair for drawing and sketching in general. You should at least be well acquainted with the fundamentals of drawing and sketching. Most of the illustrators are self-employed due to the specialized aspect of their expertise.
