	Game Designers Game Designer plays a significant role in creating the game world. The main job of a game designer is to create the levels for 3D games. He/she is responsible for laying down the basic structure of the game by constructing the whole plan and concept of playing strategies. Sometimes, game designers are also involved in writing the story on which the game is based.
Once the game is designed, an editor has to go through the work review to carry out necessary changes. Different game engines require different custom level editors. That is why, it is not necessary that game designers differentiate from one game to another but editors may vary game to game. Skills required: Most of the game development firms prefer game designers who have art background because they have to perform one of the most important functions of crafting levels for 3D games. For this reason they should have indepth knowledge of each and every aspect of designing. If you are dreaming to be a game designer, it's better to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts first and then go for specialized training in game designing.
Knowledge of architecture and design concepts is definitely an asset. Game designers are sometimes given responsibility to write the story, on which game is based. Therefore, knowledge of editing techniques is also essential for scripting part of the design. General programming ability is an added advantage.
