Programmers are more concerned with engineering aspect of a game. They use various game programming languages. One of these languages is, Visual C++, which is generally used to write the code and it also helps in checking the code database. Besides engineering, they also make use of variety of relevant software packages.

Prominent Institutes
In order to cater to the demand of skilled manpower in this sector, many institutes are offering courses in game development. Usually, animation courses offered by these institutes have one or two semesters devoted to game development. One of the institutes which offers full fledged course in game development is Arena Multimedia- which was the first institute to start a specialized course in game development: Arena Gaming Specialist Program.

Arena has structured this course into two levels. At the first level, our Institute teaches students the concepts of animation and game development which includes game content design and game enginedriven development, etc. Finally, Java programming is being taught that enables students to develop interactive games that can be played on mobile devices too, said Mr. Kirti, Director, Arena Multimedia, Pitampura Centre, Delhi. Like Arena Multimedia, other reputed institutes like, Maya, Gecko, Animaster and many more are also coming up with specialized courses in Game Development. Before we sum up, it is relevant to add that the industry poses some challenges too.

True that gaming industry is a good money churner and holds wider scope for upcoming animators but it is quite challenging because of the complexity involved in development of games. Creation of games requires creativity, conceptualisation, good programming skills and execution through effective coordination, besides huge cost of production. This fact must be borne in mind while deciding your career
