Introduction
Artificial insemination has contributed considerably to the improvement of cattle industry. In recent years, tremendous progress has been made in the manipulation of reproduction in cattle using techniques like control of oestrous cycle. The embryo transfer technique seems to be the technique of choice to increase the number of offsprings from excellent parent stock. The non-surgical embryo recovery and transfer into cattle has allowed transfer of this technology from the laboratory to the farm so that increased number of offsprings from a superior cow is possible. The embryo transfer technology in cattle includes techniques like superovulation and breeding of donors, embryo collection and evaluation, selection of recipients and transfer embryos.
